In moving forward in the area of trade facilitation and paperless trade in Tuvalu, legal and technical readiness assessments for cross-border paperless trade will be conducted under a United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) project, as part of the joint UN Development Account project entitled “Transport and trade connectivity in the age of pandemics”. The purpose of the preparatory national consultation is to introduce cross-border paperless trade and how readiness assessment could support Tuvalu’s journey towards cross-border paperless trade, as well as plan for the interviews and following activities. The meeting will also introduce the relevance of the Framework Agreement on Facilitation of Cross-border Paperless Trade in Asia and the Pacific to the readiness assessment and trade digitalization.
